WHAT IS WOOL?

Wool, simply defined, is the fiber collected from sheep and other wildlife such as llamas and alpacas. It is made up of protein keratin, which is also found in a human’s hair. Wool can be used for clothing, insulation, blankets, and so much more! Wool has its many advantages, such as being flame retardant and its ability to keep you warm even when wet. It’s biodegradable, meaning it has the ability to be broken down naturally and is overall better for our environment. Also, it has high UV ray protection.

At KVN Enterprises, we deal in a diverse range of wool products, tailored specifically for the carpet yarn manufacturing segment. Each type of wool has its own characteristics and is sourced according to the client’s requirement.

    Our core product categories include:

  • Scoured Wool – Wool that has been washed in hot water to remove grease, dirt, and contaminants. It’s ready for further processing and often preferred by mills with limited scouring capacity.

  •  Greasy Wool – Also known as raw wool, this is wool in its natural state, containing lanolin, dirt, and vegetable matter. It’s the most affordable option and suitable for buyers with in-house cleaning facilities.

  • Semi-Washed Wool – Wool that has been washed in cold water. It’s a mid-tier product between greasy and scoured wool, balancing cost and cleanliness.

  • Clipped Wool – Wool that has been sheared from live animals. It is generally of better quality due to the controlled shearing process.

  • Tannery Wool – This wool is removed from the hides of deceased animals during the tanning process. While slightly lower in quality, it serves a purpose in certain applications and offers value for budget-conscious buyers.

  •  Wool Waste (Noils) – Residual short fibers generated during combing. These are useful in specific non-woven or budget applications and are sourced as per demand.

  • Each product we supply is carefully matched to the client’s usage requirements, ensuring consistent performance and value for money.
